Iguazú National Park ticket price 2026 (Argentine side)
Argentina's National Parks Administration (APN) raised fees at its national parks with Resolution 132/2026, in force since June 1, 2026. You may see "+115%" in headlines: that figure applies to other categories, not to foreign visitors. For foreigners the increase was 33%.
| Visitor category | Price (ARS) | ≈ USD on a foreign card |
|---|---|---|
| Foreign non-residents | 60,000 (was 45,000) | ≈US$41 |
| Argentines | 25,000 | ≈US$17 |
| Students | 15,000 | ≈US$10 |
| Residents of Misiones province | 8,000 | ≈US$5.50 |
| Children under 6 | Free (confirm at the ticket office) | US$0 |
Assumptions: fees in force since June 1, 2026 (APN Resolution 132/2026, reported by Minuto Uno and Gazeta SP). USD amounts are our own conversion at the ≈1,465 ARS/USD foreign card rate of October 2026. Some sources put the free age at 0 to 5, so check at the ticket office. Other categories have their own prices: check the official park site before you go.
Iguazú Falls Argentina side cost: what the ticket includes
- Included: park entry and the Tren Ecológico de la Selva (the jungle train inside the park).
- Not included: the Gran Aventura boat ride under the falls. It is a separate excursion paid on its own; ask for the current price before you book.
- Second day: historically the park has given 50% off a second visit within 72 hours if you show your first-day ticket and ID (reported in November 2025). That would bring a foreign ticket to ARS 30,000. Confirm that it still applies in 2026 when you buy.
Getting there: the bus from Puerto Iguazú
The bus between Puerto Iguazú and the falls costs ARS 12,000 each way (fare approved in July 2026). That is about US$8 per leg on a foreign card, so ≈ARS 24,000 round trip. Ask the driver or at the bus terminal how you can pay before you board.

How to pay the Iguazú Falls entrance fee
Buying online ahead of time is the recommended option. At the ticket office, cash in pesos and Visa or Mastercard are usually accepted. Bring a backup card in case one is declined, and some pesos for small purchases.
If you pay with a foreign card, the charge converts at the card rate, which in October 2026 was ≈1,465 pesos per dollar. That is why an ARS 60,000 ticket ends up near US$41. The difference between that rate and the crypto dollar is explained in card dollar vs crypto dollar.
If the ticket office or any stand shows a Mercado Pago QR, you can pay it from a dollar balance in CacaoCash. If it does not, use your card or cash.
The Brazilian side, if you cross
The Brazilian side is a separate park with its own ticket, sold online with a date and time slot. Prices start from about BRL 131 for international visitors; confirm on the official site before you go. It is paid in Brazilian reais, not pesos.
Spend fewer dollars on the rest of your Iguazú trip
The park ticket is one payment. Meals, remises, tours and guesthouses in Puerto Iguazú add up, and many of them charge by QR or bank transfer to an alias. With CacaoCash you keep a dollar balance and:
- Pay Mercado Pago and MODO QR codes in restaurants, shops and kiosks.
- Send pesos to any alias, CVU or CBU, for example to a tour operator or your host. New to those terms? Read CBU vs CVU vs alias.
- Sign up with your passport only, no DNI and no Argentine bank account.
- Load it by bank transfer from the US, Europe, the UK, Mexico, Brazil or Colombia, or with crypto.
Each payment converts at the crypto dollar with a 2.5% fee shown before you confirm (see fees). Even with that fee you get up to 10% more pesos than with a foreign card. It cannot receive pesos, so keep a card or some cash for places that only take those.
